Silver Award Project by Bethany, Troop 646
Hello,
My name is Bethany Butler and for my Sliver Project I built a Blessing Box, a mini pantry, for Spicewood Helping Hands Crisis Ministry. I also conducted a food drive that raised over 320 lbs of canned goods and other miscellaneous items, such as toilet paper, toiletries, cookies and candy. I stocked the pantry and donated the rest to Helping Hands. I decided to build the Blessings Box because I realized that there is a need for supplemental food right now. The Blessings Box is available 24 hours a day/7 days a week and will be maintained by Spicewood Helping Hands and the community can donate items if they wish.
I know that a virus has changed the world we live in. It has brought isolation and division. But I want to encourage you to be hopeful. The virus will not defeat us. Choose to be kind and let us continue to find ways to help one another. Reach out, connect, neighbor to neighbor. Be strong and courageous during these times and choose to do good.
Your in Scouting,
Bethany Butler
