New TTA
Hi Leaders,
There is a new way to submit your TTAs and a new roster format. These are now submitted directly to gsctx.org online. You can find more information here:
https://www.gsctx.org/en/our-council/forms-and-documents/TTA.html
Here is a pdf explaining the new process:
TTAs with the accompanying roster can be time consuming to complete, but they are designed to protect you as the leader who will be traveling with your Scouts and any adults or non-registered children who might be attending your events.
You are required to submit a TTA at least 3 weeks before an event in these cases:
• Your event is overnight (Let’s Go 1 is required for overnights indoors; Let’s Go 2 is required for you to use fire or do simple outdoor cooking, Let’s Go 3 is required to sleep in tents and do more intense outdoor cooking, Let’s Go Extra Mile is required for overnights of 3 nights or more);
• Includes a high-risk activity such as swimming, paddle boarding, etc., or high ropes (see the safety activity check points for activities that require a TTA);
• Is more than 100 miles away from your meeting place;
Some things I have learned since the new TTA system began:
• A First Aid/CPR trained person is required for all TTAs and you will need to upload a copy of the certification card.
• Your Let’s Go Certifications are held at council and you do not need to submit a copy of the cards.
• You must upload a copy of the new format for the roster.
• You must collect Health History forms for all adults and all children who will be overnighting with your troop.
• You need to ensure all people driving people other than their own children have car insurance.
• Tag-A-longs are non-registered children who will not be participating in an event. You need to submit a tag along waiver as part of your TTA. Any child who is not registered but will be participating in an event should have the same permission form as your Scouts. You collect this, but you don’t need to include it as part of your TTA.
• Non-member insurance does not cover any non-registered, children.
• If you have non-registered adults attending an event (even meetings), you must purchase non-member insurance at GSCTX.org for each event individually. If you are submitting a TTA that requires insurance, you will be asked for proof of purchase.
• All adults attending events-even meetings, registered or not, must have a current CBC through GSCTX. Council will check the CBC dates for all adults listed on your TTA.
