Troop 2959 Outdoor Skills Workshop
On April 8 Troop 2959, which consists of Brownies, Juniors and CSAs, hosted an Outdoor Skills workshop for 40 Daisies and Brownies in other troops. The workshop activities included learning how to set up tents, build fires, roll sleeping bags, and plan and pack for a campout. Troop 2959 helped the girls master square and clove hitch knots, dish washing, and setting up dunk lines using their newfound knot-tying skills. They also provided opportunities for the girls to use campout kaper charts, plan simple meals, pack a travel snack, use trail markers and learn the Leave No Trace principles. The Daisies and Brownies who participated earned a patch and met most of the requirements for either the Buddy Camper or Cabin Camper badges. Everyone had a great time and learned some new skills!
Looks and sounds like it was a rousing success! Thank you and way-to-go Troop 2959!
