Interested in re-gaining use of the OBCS for scouts? Please attend the Bee Cave City Council meeting tomorrow 2/13 at 6p at the BC City Hall – they are reviewing Ordinance 357 for the specific purpose of making the OBCS free to use for youth/scouts (boys and girls) I don’t believe there will be opportunity to address to the council per se, but we’ve been invited to attend in case they have questions for us.
International Day (aka World Thinking Day) is Feb 22nd we’ll be celebrating it Sun, Feb 25 @ Camp Texlake – hope to see you there! There’s still time to sign up for a country…contact Elizabeth at elizabeth@thedevines.com for details; also CSA volunteers wanted – earn up to 4 service hours, please contact Elizabeth if you can assist.

LHUS Awards Nominees needed – know an adult scout who’s gone the ‘extra mile’ or done some serious growing as in ‘green but growing’ or teamed up to make something outstanding happen in our service unit or glows like a rising ‘star’ when you talk GS stuff with her/him or is an amazing ‘outstanding leader’? End of Term Feast – April 27th @ Lake Travis United Methodist Church, 6p-9:30p – this Harry Potter themed event is a fundraiser for Troop 809’s trip to Peru. Cost is $25 if reservation made by April 1st, $30 if made after April 1st. Contact Amy at awallquist@gmail.com for more information.

Jul 14 VEC in Killeen – Volunteer Enrichment Conference for any and all GS adults interested in learning more about GS, choose your classes and meet other GSCTX volunteers as well as GSCTX Council staff as you go thru the day – registration usually opens in late May
OOPS forgot to mention that Troop Financial Reports are due to Council April 20th – preferred method is via VTK finance tab – there is a 17 minute video to walk you thru the process. Use your March bank statement and print 2 copies…one for LHSU treasurer Diane and one for your records. This is part of the Super Troop Award that helps your troop earn .05cents more/box of cookies sold.
AND that our LHSU FOGS (Friends of Girl Scouting) fundraising goal for this 2017-18 school year is $1700.

April 28th there will be an informational meeting for our SU Travel Troop. Current destinations are: Peru 2018 (for current 6th graders and up); Belize 2019 (current 5th and up); Galapagos 2020 (current 4th and up) Part of this meeting will also be seeing who is interested in less expensive/domestic travel as well as where the group is interested in going in 2021.
