Invitation to attend our 2nd annual Youth Protection Champion Symposium on Saturday, April 9, from 10am to Noon at the Frank Fickett Scout Training and Service Center. If your unit has a volunteer designated as your “Unit Youth Protection Champion”, I hope to see them as well. But even if your unit doesn’t have someone in that role, please consider attending; you’ll hear some impactful presentations and meet organizations that can help you keep your Scouts and your children safe. Among them:
- Judge John Specia, Commissioner of Texas Department of Family Services, will tell you why your role is so critical to your children’s safety
- Robert Miljenovich with the Human Trafficking Unit of the Austin Police Department and Kate Nyquist from the Center for Child Protection will give you critical information about how child predators are targeting your children online and through social media
