Silver Award Info
Cadettes who want to earn the Silver Award need to do the following:
- Complete a Cadette Journey.
- Attend a Silver Award Workshop. You can find an online version here:https://www.gsctx.org/en/about-girl-scouts/our-program/highest-awards/silver-award.html or attend an in person workshop. (tentatively in early September).
- Email the Lake Hills Silver Award team at lhsusilveraward@gmail.com with your project idea before submitting the proposal.
- Submit the proposal to GSCTX.org using the online tool.
- Once the project is approved, do the project.
- After completing the project, submit the final paperwork and supporting documents to our SU email address.
Supporting Documents:
- Proposal approval certificate
- Approval letter from your partnering organization
- Photos of you doing the project, before and after photos
- Links to digital media, websites etc. if they are not in your final paperwork
- Materials, flyers, or handouts you created
- Thank you letters from the partnering organization.
The Silver Award can be done alone or in groups of up to 4 girls. Each scout must complete their own proposal and final paperwork. Each girl must do 50 hours of work and have at least 7 hours of leadership. This means that group projects must be bigger in scope that projects done by individuals.
